Launched in 2017, I AM AI has become the iconic opening for GTC keynote addresses by NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang. Each video, with its AI-created narration and soundtrack, documents the newest advances in artificial intelligence and their impact on the world. The latest, which debuted at GTC last week, showcases how NVIDIA technologies enable AI to take on complex tasks in the world's most challenging environments, from farms and traffic intersections to museums and research labs. Episode 4 of our "I Am AI" docuseries introduces ModiFace, a Toronto-based company that's transforming the way people choose new hair colors and, along with it, the multi-billion dollar hair care industry. ModiFace has been bringing augmented reality to the beauty industry for the past decade. The company's founder and CEO, Parham Aarabi, had applied his work on using AI for face tracking and lip detection to enable consumers to see what beauty products would look like when applied. Already a leader in that market, ModiFace is now eyeing the much more ambitious task of letting people virtually try on hair colors. The company's iOS application does just that -- with startling effectiveness -- removing a lot of the inherent mystery that comes with deciding on a new hair color.

The racing industry is on the fast track to driverless racecars, thanks to AI. At the center of this evolution is Roborace, the world's first autonomous racing competition. Conceived by renowned car designer Daniel Simon -- a former Bugatti designer who's gone on to create various cars for Hollywood -- the "Robocar" is designed, developed, and built by the Roborace organization. Teams compete by writing the software and developing deep neural networks that consume the sensor data to see, think, and act. The cars -- which are 4.8-meters-long -- can reach speeds of over 300 kilometers per hour.
